Plantar Fascitis

plantar fascitis
The plantar fascia is a tendon that goes from the heel bone to each of the toes.  As you age, your arch typically begins to fall which is why it is often seen as you get older.  It can also be caused by excessive straining of the tendon by various activities.  Most of the force is focused on the attachment at the heel. That causes inflammation there which causes the pain. If left untreated, the electrical charge caused by the inflammation can cause a bone spur to grow which may require surgery to remove. I have developed a special form of electro-acupuncture that uses electricity to get rid of the inflammation and thus the pain and prevents formation of a spur. It usually takes 3 – 4 treatments with pain relief usually seen even after the first treatment or two. The more severe the inflammation is, the more treatments it will take.Needling the heel isn’t painless so I slso have a treatment (FSM) that doesn’t use needles at all and is painless (you will feel a slight tingling at most). However it does take more treatments.
