Abdominal Pain

abdominal pain

Abdominal pain can have many causes. First I would talk with you to find out things like what makes it better or worse, what it feels like, where the pain is, etc. Then I would palpate your abdomen to find out what areas are tender. From all that information, I should be able to tell what organ or parts of your intestines are involved and what kind of treatment might be able to help or if you should go to the hospital (for example it might be appendicitis). One common problem is inflammation of an organ (such as the liver) or part of the intestines. I can treat inflammation anywhere in the body. The inflammation can cause pain which in turn can cause muscles to tighten or cramp causing further pain. I can treat that too. The hardest part is figuring out what is causing the inflammation in the first place. That is where talking with you becomes so important. I may be able to address it or it might require changes in your diet depending on the cause. Sometimes just getting rid of the inflammation is enough. But unlike most doctors, I will take the time to try and figure it out, and I have knowledge and tools available to me that no doctor has. So if they can’t figure it out I usually can.
