Welcome to Valley Acupuncture Center!
Giving you the best and finest quality health care possible is our sole purpose. To permit ready access to the acupuncture points and minimize the need to disrobe, please remember to wear loose-fitting clothing to the clinic. In consideration of our multi-allergy prone patients, please refrain from wearing any cologne or perfume.
For best results during treatment, please schedule your activities so that you do not come into treatment with a full stomach or hungry, just after sexual activity, or when extremely tired. After treatment, take it easy and assimilate the effects of the treatment for a few hours, if possible. At the least, do your best not to be “very busy” and/or strenuously exerting. Wait at least an hour to eat a full meal. While undergoing acupuncture treatment, you will benefit most by refraining from excessive use of caffeine, cigarettes, alcohol, and other drugs. Such strong influences on autonomic functioning can override the autonomic regulating effects of acupuncture.
Your body will heal itself at its own rate. Please do not try to help things with additional self-administered remedies unless prescribed. If you are taking any herbs or supplements, please let your acupuncturist know what they are. You will be helping yourself by getting enough sleep, proper nutrition and recreational exercise, as well as avoiding, if possible, stressful situations. You will serve yourself well by setting aside some time each day for complete mental and physical relaxation.
As we begin assisting you in correcting your condition, follow the home instructions which your acupuncturist may give you. These may include such therapies as hot or cold applications, prescribed exercises, diet, herbs or supplements, or self-massage for specific points on your body.
Make mental notes when you feel better and tell us. If you have an “off day”, we want to know that too. Feel free to ask any questions about your health at any time. If you have an emergency, and it’s not life-threatening, do not hesitate to call me at (206) 850-7999 any time, day or night, otherwise call 911. If we’re not available to answer your call, please leave a message and we will return your call as soon as we can.
If you ever find it necessary to change or cancel your appointment, please try to give as much advance notice as possible, at least 24 hours. It is important that you get into the habit of keeping your appointments, because this will facilitate your correction timetable, leading to the most successful results.
As you improve, please tell others. Your friends or family’s health may be helped by your taking the time to explain this natural health care method to them. Your encouragement and sharing your improvement may be what they need to trust that their health problems can also be helped with acupuncture care.
Your health and well-being are very important to us. We will do our best to assist you, and you can help yourself best by following through with the recommendations that we give you. This is how results are accomplished. It’s teamwork.

This has the effect of pumping the circulation in the affected area which helps eliminate toxins, reduce inflammation, speed up the healing process and often helps relieve pain. Modern research has shown heas is more helpful in most cases than cold Cold can impair circulation and thus slow the healing process. Heat relaxes muscles and dilate blood vessels. It also improved the circulation of both the blood and extracellular fluid thus getting more nutrients to the area and flushing out toxins. Acupuncture can influence the flow too, both speeding it up or slowing it down depending on what is needed.
