BRUISING

Bruising falls under the category of Blood Stagnation in TCM. It is usually caused by some kind of trauma. Bruising that you can see is best treated with a medicated plaster called “Plaster for  Bruise”. Just cover the bruised area with the plaster.  Large bruises like on the hip may take several plasters. You can cut them. Any uncovered area will not be treated. The bruising will be gone when you remove the plaster several days later. True blood stagnation like in a bruised ankle is usually found when a patient still has pain when the swelling has gone down. I twisted my ankle once playing tennis. I treated it with AIEAC which took away most of the pain and took away the noticeable swelling but I still got pain in the morning when I first put weight on it. So I took “Chin Koo Tieh Sheng Wan” and it went away. Now there is a frequency in FSM for Chronic Inflammation that is also said to be used for a “Deep Old Bruise” but I have no experience with it. Some practitioners use cupping with bleeding to treat blood stagnation. I find the herbs work fine without the mess.
