Ear Acupuncture

Ear Acupuncture is one of the micro-systems in Chinese medicine.  Basically, the whole body is represented in the ear. It is another way to treat just about any part or function of the body.  And there are some points in the ear that there are no equivalents on the body. For example, there is a point on the back of the ear that tightens the sphincter muscle at the top of the stomach that help with esophageal reflux. Ear acupuncture is also good for helping the body points work better and are also useful for giving the patient a way to treat themselves by stimulating the points in the ear using pellets or small needles left in the ear. They stay in for about a week and I swap ears in followup treatments. There is a group of 5 points that I use that are good at treating stress. How useful ear points are depends on the person and what condition I’m treating.
