Microneedling is effective for baldness or bald spots. It can increase blood flow to the scalp and thus to the hair follicles. There is a long history of treating these kinds of problems with herbs using topical formulas. I use a combination of formulas. By using the formula on the scalp before microneedling, I can get the herbal formulas directly in the scalp to nourish the hair follicles directly The needles drive the formula into the deeper layers of the skin (typically only 0.5 to 1.5 mm). Sometimes the problem is blocked hair follicles or pores by use of oils that do that and other debris such as dead skin cells or dirt. The oils can make the debris stick to the skin and block the pores. In this case, microneedling can break up the blockages and using a good shampoo can also help. Microneedling can be more effective than Minoxidil (See pictures below.)

My own understanding of how acupuncture works leads me to several conclusions. Regular acupuncture on the scalp will naturally increase the blood flow in the scalp. It does this by causing the muscles that surround the blood vessels ti relax and making the blood vessels get larger and thus capable of carrying more blood. This reaction is mainly the needle’s effect on structured water. You see, the sarcomere (the individual unit of muscle) expands and contracts with phase changes of water. When bulk water turn into structured water the three components of the sarcomere all relax and lengthen. That makes the blood vessel expand. When structured water turns back into bulk water the sarcomere constricts, making the blood vessel narrower. Now it so happens that a typical acupuncture is made of stainless steel. That makes the surface of the needle hydrophilic in nature (water loving). Hydrophilic surfaces will naturally grow structured water on them. So when you stick a needle just about anywhere in the body, it will grow structured water on it. If you put the needle near enough to a blood vessel, you will trigger the formation of structured water in the muscle and it will relax. This is why if you put a needle in a muscle, it will relax. And it doesn’t have to be an acupuncture point! Heat (infrared energy) will enhance the effect.
Now when you do microneedling you will drive the herb mixture into the scalp where it can interact with the tissues diorectly. The micro trauma to the scalp will naturally stimulate vthe body’s healing mechanisms. Particular herbs have specific effects on the skin of the skalp, helping the hair to regrow.Witch Hazel, which is used to dissolve and dilute the herbs, acts as an antibiotic, killing any psthogens that may be oresent. Both the microneedling and witch hazel also help break up and clear out blocked pores.Similarly, blue light also has a pathogen killing effect.
