A lack of serotonin is associated with depression and it’s role has resulted in development of a class of drugs called selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRI) to treat depression. Recent research suggests serotonin’s role in anxiety as well. As an acupuncturist, I know several ways to regulate serotonin that have worked clinically. The primary point to do this is SP6. Also electro-stim at 111Hz using cranio electric stimulation (CES) can also do this. For anxiety it is also useful to add Yin Tang to stop overthinking. Since anxiety is a hallmark of obsessive-compulsive disorder, it nay be useful there too.
